Trumpets (Alex Absent; Taliya No Instrument)

What we did
  • Introduced students to adding the pitches F and G to their range.
  • Discussed that the approach to playing right now is not consistent therefore producing inconsistent sound.
    • Students must coordinate good air with a well formed embouchure to produce a good sound.

What to do
  • Complete and show their practice chart assigned today

Looking Ahead
  • Establishing a good and consistent legato articulation
  • Reading, identifying and playing half notes/rests

  • Played Benchmark lines through page 29.
  • Discussed consistency of sound and developed strategies achieve.

What to do
  • Stefan is moving quickly and is working to achieve proficiency on the benchmark lines in the book.
    • Focus on accuracy of notes and consistent sound

  • Used line 16 (Hot Cross Buns to introduce whole note rhythms

  • Achieve proficiency level on performance targets to lines 12, 14 and 16
